Two similar shrines at Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram district are known as Vizhinjam Kalkshetra (stone temple). Both are built facing east. One of these sanctuaries, built in granite, has a Mukhamandapam. These rare shrines are in the Chola-Pandya style of architecture. The deities in these shrines were Siva and Vishnu. Now the idols were missing.
