The Veluthampi Dalawa Museum at Mannadi in Pathanamthitta district is a memorial to the brave patriot Veluthampi Dalawa of Travancore, who draw a heroic death, fighting against British rule. Veluthampi Dalawa instigated the people to revolt against the British and at the end of the revolt, he committed suicide at Mannadi without surrendering to foreigners. The Department of Archaeology opened the museum as a memorial to him in 2010 at his death place.
A bronze statue of Veluthampi can be seen in front of the museum, which has a beautiful lawn and garden. The biography of Veluthampi is pictured in the museum. On the ground floor of the two-storied museum, portraits of Travancore kings from Marthandavarma to Sri Chithira Thirunnal can be seen.
Many remains and historical curiosities of the bygone era can be seen here, including old cannons, cannon balls, weapons like swords, spears, daggers, Kayamkulam swords, ancient agricultural implements, uppumaravi (wooden salt container), granthapetty, stone idols including Sri Buddha, Naga figures etc.
