Vattezhuthu inscriptions at Thazhekkad

Notification Year: 1938

The granite slab with the Vattezhuthu inscription in the Thazhekkad Church and the granite slab with a three-line inscription lying in front of the srikovil of the Thazhekkad Siva Temple were protected in 1938 by a single notification. The Thazhekkad Church inscription with writings on both sides’ measures 6 feet x 4.5 feet in the 3rd regnal year of King Rajasimha Peruman Atikal, the village assembly's decision to exempt two families of Manikkiramattar from certain taxes is mentioned in the inscription. The Thazhekkad temple inscription is a fragmentary one.
