Varanad Naduvile Kovilakam

Naduvile Kovilakam, the ancestral house of Ravi Varman Thampi, better known as Irayimman Thampi (1782–1856), is at Varanadu in Cherthala. Irayimman Thampi, famous for the poignant lullaby "Omanathinkalkidavo..." was a Carnatic music maestro and poet laureate of Swathi Thirunal's court. The Naduvile Kovilakam is a traditional ettukettu with two central courtyards. The Kovilakam has long, narrow verandas, gabled roofs, and round pillars.
