Notification Year: 1936

A monument is erected inside the Heritage Garden at the Sakthan Thampuran Palace, Thrissur, where the Zamorin Raja of Calicut was cremated in 1748. For a short period before the Mysorean invasion, Thrissur was under the control of the Zamorins of Calicut. The Zamorin who occupied this palace died at Thrissur and was cremated in the palace compound.
