The Thrikkuratti Mahadeva temple at Mannar in Alappuzha district may be dated to the 10–11th century C.E. This is one of the biggest temple complexes in Kerala. This temple comprises a circular garbahgriha with a copper sheet roof, a square Namaskaramandapamm, double storey gopura, a balikkalppura, etc. On the walls of the vrittasrikovil, unparalleled wood carvings can be seen. The ceiling of the Namaskaramandapam also bears wood carvings. The pillars of the Namaskaramandapam are highly ornate. The dwarapalakas of this east-facing temple are considered to be marvellous pieces of artistic excellence.
