Thrikkodithanam temple near Changanassery, one of the nine holy places of Tamil Vaishnavism, dates back to the 11th century C.E. This Vishnu temple is of circular vimana with a copper sheet roof. The chief deity, Vishnu, is facing the east. Its adhishtana is made of granite, and the rest of the temple is made of laterite plastered with lime. The entire walls, including the cardinal false doors within the Hamsathorana scheme, are decorated with murals. The oldest one among the mural panels stylistically belonged to the 17th century C.E. Its Namaskaramandapam holds a special plinth type with pratibandha moldings. The plinth moldings bear many Vattezhuthu records.
