Thirunarayanapuram Vishnu Temple

Notification Year: 1969

The Thirunarayanapuram Vishnu Temple, a structural temple of the 14th century, is of chathurasratritala vimana. Its adhishtana and walls are made of granite, and the entire superstructure is in laterite and stucco. Its true sikhara (cupola), which is flattened out at the top and bulged on the sides with flanged edges, resembles the early Vijayanagara style. This sandhara type temple has two cardinal openings is set on the walls of the ground tala along with pierced stone windows. The upper talas at the hara level have koshtadevatas such as Indra, Dakshinamurthi, Yoganarasimha, and Brahma. The namaskaramandapa is an open mandapa with carved massive pillars.
