The St. Raphael's Church at Ezhupunna, Cherthala, popularly known as the Parayil Church, was constructed in 1859. The architecture of this 150-year-old church is said to be an amalgamation of Portuguese, Dutch, and traditional Kerala temple architectural styles. It has wide porticos, a tiled roof, latticed balconies and arch-shaped doors.
