Sree Dharma Sastha Temple Poonjar, also known as 'Kattunel Kavu' is a temple with exquisite sculptures and relief carvings. It is located very near the Poonjar Palace. This temple was also built by the Poonjar dynasty. The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. The entire wall of the circular garbhagriha and the ceiling of the balikkalpura are decorated with intricately carved sculptures. The lamps carved in granite stone on the outer wall of the nalambalam are a stunning example of the craftsmanship of sculptors of the bygone era. A few inscriptions from the later period are also present in this temple.
