Rock Caves, Kuthanoor

Village: Kuthanoor 1

Taluk: Alathur

GPS Coordinates: 10° 42’ 21.2” N 76° 32’ 26.2” E

Notification Year: 2003

Rock caves at Kuthanoor are found on the northern side of a huge granite rock. These caves are situated in the forest land. The Malampuzha canal flows at the south of the site. Out of the two rock caves, the eastern one is comparatively bigger. The archaeological relics found at these caves ascertain the conclusion that these caves were functioned as habitation shelters of past societies. A grinding hole found on a huge granite stone at the entrance of the cave confirms the above fact.
