The Perumthrikkovil, one of the biggest temples with circular shrines in Kerala, is located on the bank of the Muvattupuzha River at Pazhoor. This Siva temple, dated to the 12th century, with its gigantic circular adhishtana and conical roof covered with copper sheets, is of sandhara type. The main entrance is through a flight of steps with banisters bearing purna - kumbha motif. There is a column on either side of the sopana. The dwarapalakas are made of wood. The square-shaped ardhamandapa contains exquisite wooden carvings on its ceiling. Wood carvings can also be seen in the namaskaramandapa and valiyambalam. In the back of the srikovil was the enshrined goddess Parvathi, facing the west.
