Paliam Nalukettu is a traditional two-storey building where the Paliam family resided after shifting from Vanneri to Chendamangalam. The beautifully laid-out entrance foyer, purathuthalam, is the main feature of this nearly 400-year-old edifice. This nalukettu has a central courtyard surrounded by four blocks. The western block or 'padinjattini', is divided into three rooms. The north east block or vadakkini, is divided into two parts, the kitchen and the dining room. This nalukettu was mostly used by women and children. The building has now been converted into a museum under the Muziris Heritage Project.
