Taluk: Tirurangadi

GPS Coordinates:

Notification Year: 2023

Nerumkaithakotta is situated in Vallikkunnu village in Thirurangadi taluk on the northern border of Malappuram district. Nerumkaithakotta is a rare temple complex that still keeps the history, architectural ingenuity, and sculptural skills left behind by the Parappanadu dynasty, a largely unknown mediaeval dynasty. The palaces, Kalari and military bases that were here disappeared centuries ago. Nerumkaithakotta, as seen today, is a complex that includes Ayyappa Temple, Mekotta Bhagavathy Temple, Pathayappura, Pattupura and ponds. Spread over an area of fifty acres, these structures are nearly five centuries old.
