Kumaran Asan was a famous poet of Malayalam literature, an Indian social reformer and a philosopher. The Mahakavi Kumaran Asan memorial is located near Thonnakkal Junction, in Veiloor village, Thiruvananthapuram. There are two mud huts facing east. Kumaran Ashan used one of them as his writing house (Ezhuthupura). Duravastha, Chandalabhikshuki and Karuna were written in this Ezhuthupura. The hut has one room and a small veranda. Materials used by Mahakavi, his handwritten works etc., can be seen here. The next hut has two rooms, a kitchen and an enclosed veranda. A well, used by Asan, trees maintained by him can also be seen near this hut.
