Kowdiar Palace

The Kowdiar Palace is located on a small hillock in Kowdiar, Thiruvanthapuram. This palace was built by the then King of Travancore, Sri ChithiraThirunal, in 1934 as a wedding gift to his sister, Maharani KarthikaThirunal Lakshmi Bayi. This three storey palace has around 150 rooms. On the roof, there are six small towers. The floors are paved with white marble. This palace is a treasure house of carved antique furniture, paintings, and sculptures. Now, the Kowdiar palace is the official residence of the Travancore Royal Family.
