The Kottakkal Valiya Juma'ath Mosque, which was witness to the evolution of history, stands hardly 500 metres northeast of the Kunjali Marakkar Memorial. This mosque, too, has been declared a protected monument in view of its antiquity and place in history. The mosque is a traditional two-storey structure with tiled roofs and carved wooden gables. A Portuguese throne and sword captured by the Kunjali Marakkar in battle are preserved in the mosque.
