Kotholikkunnu Caves

Kotholikkunnu is a laterite outcrop in the Kadavalloor village of Thrissur District. The rock-cut caves at Kotholikkunu are of the Megalithic Age. Out of the two caves, the eastern cave is a multi-chambered one. The entrance of the middle chamber of this cave faces east and there are three steps leading down into a chamber. The steps directly lead to the entrance to Chamber 1. The entrance to Chamber 3 faces south and that of Chamber 1 faces north. There is a square pillar inside Chamber 2. The other cave, situated a few metres west of the first cave, has only one chamber.
