Karikkad Sri Subrahmanya Swami Temple

The Karikkad Subrahmanya Swami Temple is located about 4 km south of Manjeri in Malappuram District. The main srikovil of Subrahmanya Swami is a circular dwithalavimana. The granite adhishtana bears a Vattezhuthu inscription. The ceiling of the namaskaramandapam  is decorated with carved navagraha panels. The Ayyappa shrine in the Karikkad temple is apsidal in shape. There is also a circular shrine of Velayudhaswamy in this complex. The entire complex is surrounded by a laterite maryada or outer prakara wall.
