Kalpathoor Paradevatha Temple Nochad, the foremost example of a typical mediaeval Kerala temple, is dated to the 14th century. The temple complex comprises a Padippura on the east, a traditional two- storeyed Malika (edifice) on the south, two small srikovils and two Namaskaramandapams inside the nalambalam. A balikkalppura is also present in the west. The ceiling of the Eastern Padippura of the temple carries exquisite carvings of miniature figures. These figures are traditionally coloured. Puranic scenes like Sree Rama Pattabhishekam, Palazhimadhanam etc. are the main depictions.
