Ezhuthupura, or Ezhuthala, at an elevation of 3280 feet MSL, is in the Koodakkadu Sandalwood Reserve Forest at Marayoor. It is a solitary, tall granite rock with a wider concavity and looks like a serpent hood. The pre-historic paintings are within that concavity, and they occupy three-fourths of the rock surface. It is about 12 metres in height. Human figures with raised hands, images of bulls, deer, impressions of palms and cattle are the main portrayals here. A large human figure outlined in red has inner fillings with wavy lines. The pigments used are red ochre, white, and brownish yellows. The superimposition of paintings is also noticed at Ezhuthupura.
