This Kovilakam is situated a few kilometres south of the famous Sakthan Thampuran Palace. Historical records state that during his stay at Thrissur, Sakthan Thampuran used to frequent here. He resided mostly at the Sakthan Thampuran Palace. The architecture of the Erattachira Kovilakam is also a blend of Kerala and European architectural styles.
