The Heritage Museum has been envisaged by the Department of Archaeology as a place to preserve the rich and diverse heritage of Idukki for future generations. The model of Idukki Dam, Moolamattam Powerhouse, etc., its construction history, old pictures, the story and way of life of Idukki ruled by many dynasties, etc. can be seen in 'Idukki in History'.
