Western Gateway of Sakthan Thampuran Palace

GPS Coordinates: 10° 31’ 51.9” N 76° 12’ 55.8” E

Notification Year: 1937

Sakthan Thampuran Palace at Thrissur had a massive fortification with deep moats around the palace. The complete fortification, except for the western and eastern gateways, is lost. The Western Gateway is the main entrance to the Palace, where the Archaeological Museum of the Department now functions.
