Kampithan Kalmandapam

Village: Kadampanadu

Taluk: Adoor

GPS Coordinates: 9° 05’ 06.6” N 76° 44’ 08.2” E

Notification Year: 2015

The Kampithan Kalmandapam, built entirely with granite stone, is situated on the banks of the Kallada River at Mannady. It is only a few metres away from the Mannady Devi Temple. This rectangular mandapa is 7 metres long and 3 metres wide. An eye-catching feature of this structure is the facade with artistically carved lion bracket figures. The pillars bear relief figures of gods and goddesses. Among the carvings, Narasimha tearing the chest of Hiranyakashipu is fascinating. In front of the mandapa, there is a splendid flight of steps of granite leading to the river.
